Artist's Description
I made this image of the ocean and shoreline on a beautiful, sunny day when the sky and the ocean were brilliantly colored. I then worked with the image to give it the look and feel of a watercolor. Pops of color help to brighten the image, and the ocean is made up of an almost infinite number of subtly different shades of aquamarine. This image prints especially well on Somerset Velvet paper; the slight warmth of the paper base adds to the richness of the colors.
About John Pagliuca
Hi, thanks for visiting my pages. I started as an amateur photographer, was captured by the medium, and pursued it professionally. For the last 35 years I’ve worked as a commercial photographer and a filmmaker, but always created personal work at the same time. I’ve been exhibiting my work for many years, in Washington, DC and now in Raleigh, North Carolina. I love water and being by the ocean, and many of my images reflect that passion. I work in both color and black and white, and try to create strong images that have something interesting to say. I like knowing how people react to my work, so please leave a comment if an image speaks to you..

I love the vivid colors in this print and touch of red in the sky. Also, there's whimsy in the dozens of little vignettes on the beach, everybody involved in his or her activity.
